
Noel Montes - Mr. M
"My why is to build confidence, connection, and creative thinking within our future youth".
Mr. M was born and raised in Northern California. He is from a loving family, and is the middle of three brothers. He earned his B.A. in Psychology and Minor in Studio Art (Sculpting) from the University of California at San Diego. After graduating, Mr. M continued his journey in serving communities and people of all ages. Mr. M has been working in education for several years and aspires to empower youth as his life mission. Before becoming a teacher, Mr. M worked as a Medical Interpreter, Youth Program Coordinator, and Behavior Specialist. Through his work with youth and people of all ages, Mr. M realized his passion for helping students learn and grow. Mr. M completed his graduate work from HTH and hold's a master's degree in education. Currently, Mr. M teaches math at Innovation High School.
Mr. M aspires to create student centered learning environments where students feel safe to challenge themselves, connect with each other, and their community. As a culturally-responsive educator, Mr. M knows that it is very important for students' identities and home lives to be reflected and celebrated in the classroom. He is excited to work with students and their families to create a learning space where everyone feels welcome, and hopes to honor his students' backgrounds, traditions, and cultures in his projects and daily work. He believes that high school is a time for real breakthrough in learning, and growth as both a student and citizen of the world. When Mr. M is not working, he enjoys an active lifestyle and the beautiful weather Southern California has to offer. He is an artist, fitness enthusiast, and loves being outdoors. Mr. M is excited to continue empowering youth as a Math Teacher. He hopes his lessons build confidence, connection, and creative transformation.
